Contains deaths of African Americans found in the Death Registers located in the Augusta County Courthouse.  Each entry contains spaces for name, date of death, age, cause of death, place of birth, parents, spouse, and name of person reporting death.  Unfortunately, not all the above information is included with each entry. It was not mandatory during this period to report a death and as a result, the death records are far from complete. (Coil bound, 119 pgs. with an additional 24 pages of slave deaths. (Coil bound)
