Contains births of African Americans found in the birth register located in the Augusta County Courthouse.  Each entry contains spaces for name, name of father, occupation of father, name of mother, person reporting birth and relationship, and date of birth. Unfortunately, not all the above information is included with each entry.  It was not mandatory during this period to report a birth and as a result, the birth records are far from complete. (Coil bound 114 pgs.)(2013)
