Contains births of slaves found in the birth registers located in the Augusta County Courthouse. Each entry contains spaces for the date of birth, name and sex of the slave, name of the slave owner, place of birth within the county, name of the mother, name of person reporting birth and relationship to the slave.  Unfortunately, not all the above information is included with each entry.  It was not mandatory during this period to report a birth and as a result, the birth records are far from complete.(Coil bound, 114 pgs.)(2013)
